Ill start off with a few basic points about asthma and through each latter post I will build up more information from there.
There is a common misconception that asthma is not a serious condition, i’ll dare you to say that to anyone that actually has it. Over 2 million Australians have asthma , on average 1 person dies from asthma related symptoms every day in Australia.
So what is asthma. Asthma is a chronic inflammatory condition of the airways in the lungs. It is a condition where the airways become so narrow that it makes it difficult for air to move in and out of the lungs, making it difficult to breathe.
Asthma can affect people of all different ages and may occur across the lifespan. Unfortunately people with asthma miss more work, school and study than people who don’t have asthma.
Some common symptoms of asthma may include:
These symptoms may occur during the day or at night.
